Fr. Geordan Geddings, Vicar

Father Geordan Geddings, 26, arrived at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church in Alto as its Vicar in July 2017. Fr. Geddings is a native of South Carolina and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. Fr. Geddings was trained at the Anglican Cathedral of the Epiphany in Columbia where he was ordained a Deacon in November 2015. He served as deacon at St. Bede’s Anglican Church in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was ordained to the priesthood last year. “I already love this community and hope to be here for the next 50 years,” Fr. Geddings said. Fr. Geddings joined the Anglican Church in college where he was a member of the C. S. Lewis Student Center. “I’m an avid fan of C. S. Lewis and have read most of his works,” he said. C.S. Lewis was a prolific British writer and scholar best known for his ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ fantasy series and his pro-Christian texts.
